Hello Frikkie, hello Martin,
It must be very interesting to drive truck like this in real. In Germany i only drive truck with one trailer.
Iwould like to know more about your "trailer-system" in 1/14.How about the coupeling between the first and the second trailer.
I saw that Martin included the pig sound in his code.
I am Norbert (56 years old) from Germany, now we stay in Thailand. In Germany i was a truckdriver. Then we stay 2,5 years in Thailand (my wife is from Thailand) and after this we go back to Germany. In Germany we stay for 5 years and i drived truck again. Baut then our twins (11 years old), my wife and i wished to stay in Thailand again. So 1,5 years ago (March 2020) we go back to Thailand.Because we flight 2 weeks earlier than we have planed (reson was corona and we worried that we can not fly) we not take all we want. So my 2 trucks still in Germany and waiting for pick up. some weeks ago my wife allowed me to buy new remote and new truck from herkules hobby.
I very happy in joining this forum and meet people like you. The ESP32 Sound & Light Controller (and the other projects) from Martin is great. Also the smaller trailer ESP32 from Frikkie is very interesting.
It`s nice to meet you and ervery one in this forum.
Thank you!
When i start build a trailer for my truck i will take photos too and post. Maybee i need to built the trailer by myself and not buy like a kit. We will see.
Kindly regards
Norbert
Hello,
The work Martin has done is really amazing, and it has brought people with similar interest from all over the world together! I have a mechanical engineering background and I have learnt so much about electronics, components and coding...even how to solder properly!
I am 45 years old and my son is 6...and we play very nicely with our trucks! Dad and son time!
I drove the cattle links while I was studying from 1998-2003. It was great fun, transporting livestock is different, and the people on the farms are always very friendly.
From there I went to the UK and drove trucks there for 2 years before I came back to SA and started working at VWSA...still there 20 years later! With my job I have been lucky enough to travel to Germany (before Corona) every year at least twice!
I started building my trailer by using 2 pole trailers for the suspension...the rest has been hand build using aluminium, stryrene and lots of glue!!! Never done this before and has been a steep learning curve! Was going very well until the cat jumped on the table and the rear trailer's 2 pieces fell on the floor :-(
Pushed my project aside and started "overhauling" an old King Hauler for my sons 6th birthday! Also got the full DIYGuy999 treatment with sound and lights (flashing "beacon" lights in the grill and on the roof) But now I have no more excuses...I have to get mine done before the 11th of December!
Regards,
Frikkie
P.S. Sorry Martin...we have gone completely off topic here!
